My name is James Walton and for my day job I work at Red Hat, the world’s leading provider of open source software solutions. My area of focus is on enabling cloud computing, particularly cloud platforms, container management and automation. I’ve been in the computing industry for 17+ years and have seen technology shift and evolve at big enterprises like IBM, Disney and ESPN, and also at startups like Apprenda. I’ve also seen a few failed attempts at change in my time, often due to a lack of or incomplete vision and planning.

As a point of necessary clarification and legal disclaimer…

Any views or opinions represented on this site are personal and belong solely to me and do not represent those of any of my current or former employers (IBM, The Walt Disney Company, ESPN, Apprenda, or Red Hat) unless expressly stated.

When I’m not out trying to save the world with cloud solutions and open source software, I can be found spending time with my wife and kids, or engaged in one of my (too) many hobbies…
